The Rachel Zoe show

Rachel Zoe is a celebrity stylist who gained a lot of attention in 2005-6 because she was responsible for the looks of a whole host of starlets: Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson etc... when what they wore was widely imitated. From there she went on to host a fantastically compelling reality show on Bravo, the Rachel Zoe project. She also has a book, A to Zoe, and a newsletter a la GOOP. But what's really fun to watch are her deadpan looks and her catch phrases ("bananas" "I. Die.")

... which this impersonator, Amy Phillips, NAILS. I've been laughing to myself about this for over a week already.

And here's a clip of the real show for comparison:

Vanities

One of the ways I've been tracking beautiful actresses for (I've just realized) the last decade is by keeping an eye on VANITY FAIR's "Vanity" (pinup) of the month - it's a good way to keep up on ingenues. Occasionally they over-promote someone, like Gretchen Mol - but most of the time they just pick the latest hot chick. Here it's Freida Pinto, from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

This also reminds me how long I've been paying attention to models, actresses and so on - recently I found a blog called Style Rookie which has gotten a lot of attention because the blogger is a 12 yr old girl who's obsessed with fashion. The Mulleavy sisters sent her freebie tights, French VOGUE put her on their website, and she's been interviewed a lot. She's got an interesting style but really it made me realize that at that age I was just as active (but not as visible) in pursuing my passion for all things Fashion... such an odd feeling.
